Aquatic Tarot Deck created by Andreas Schröter
Nothing reminds us more of the cyclic nature of all things than this card. With its constant motion we recognise the movement of the seasons, karmic energies, the fluidity of the Universe and how it is reflected in our own life in a much smaller scale.
This symbol really is about scope and about us being able to acknowledge what aspects of our lives we are able to control and which ones are out of our hands.
Sometimes we need to adjust to the flow instead of adjusting the flow to us. Allowing the natural randomness of the Universe to play a part in our lives without getting an anxiety attack is what this card is teaching us in this day and age. We know that change is afoot and instead of preparing for what this change may be we trust ourselves that it is in our own evolutionary plan and just flow with.
This card also reminds us that to keep the universal energy flowing we need to participate in its rotation. When we take, we must also give; when we receive we give thanks to continue with the cycle of the energy. It is when we let the fear of change creep into our lives that we encounter a block and our wheel starts slowing down and sometimes stops.
To start turning your wheel again, try the following two exercises:
1. Every day write down three things that you gave, three things you have received that day, three things you are thankful for and three things you wish to ask for.
2. Make up your own wheel of fortune with a circular piece of cardboard and a dial (like a clockface) and divide it into 6-10 wedges. Write a different activity into each of the wedges and when you can’t make up your mind what to do, just spin and go with the activity the dial stops on. Get creative ;)
