The Sacred Circle Tarot by Paul Mason
In most decks the image that is depicted on this card is ominous, dark, showing great distress and the main element in it besides the actual tower is the lightning that strikes from above suggesting that the meaning of this card has something to do with divine intervention.
I think this card, just like The Devil or the Death card, is gravely misunderstood and often shunned because of their supposed negative meanings. The meaning is never something can be described in a few keywords and this Major Arcana archetype has so much more to say than just disruption and mayhem.
I like to use my readings to help people make a positive change in their lives and therefore I use the cards to show them how they can empower themselves through informed choices. To me The Tower is about that – change. Whether it is something that needs to happen or has already happened, to understand the purpose of that change in one’s life is the key to the interpretation of The Tower.
Change can be voluntary or something that we have no control over. Or so it seems most of the time. It is through my own life experience that I have learned that we always have a choice in how our life changes. We are given subtle signal by the Universe to let us know that we are not on the path we are supposed to follow. Some heed the call and some don’t. Those who do will have a choice over how change happens in their life and more importantly how that change affects them.
Those who continually ignore that call for change will one day be presented with a situation that will seem completely out of left field and the trauma will leave them grasping for straws and trying to hang onto their life as they knew it existed before The Tower event and will never let go. Those who recognise the empowerment in the choice within the change are the ones who come out with a few scars on the other side, but at least they will come out.
So, this card for me is about definite and drastic change but it signifies a much needed change. A shake up if you like, an opportunity to release that which we are holding onto out of fear of change. Be that people, objects, memories, situations. It’s like a spring clean that you have been putting off for along time because you just didn’t have the energy to tackle the massive amount of stuff that you have been storing emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.
The good news is that once making the first step of choosing to make a change, the lightning energy of The Tower card turns into something that is a lot kinder on the heart, the ever guiding and universally connected to the divine energy of The Star – to allow us to be inspired.
There are many articles out there on how to cut cords and bring sweeping change into your life. They are made for all sorts off tastes and spiritual paths. I am not going to put one here, rather would encourage you to search and find a ritual that works with your beliefs, there are even spiritual practitioners out there who offer this type of healing service. Of course, as always, be discerning about what you do and who you take advice from and always work for your highest good and the good of all and turn that Tower into a Star.
I am a lady who wears many hats: wife, mother, author, healer, witch, poet, editor, psychic medium and the list goes on. Through this blog I am living true to my Spirit. What you read here you may not agree with, it may not be politically correct, but it comes from the heart and you can be sure that it's absolutely, uncompromisingly and purely me.
